Villanova will hold a ceremony to officially unveil "Wright Way," the new name for the drive between the Davis Center and the Finneran Pavilion that is being changed to honor the career of Hall of Fame coach Jay Wright.
The unveiling will happen as part of a ceremony that will take place in front of Finneran Pavilion ahead of the November 29 home game against St. Joe's. The ceremony is set to start at 4:30 p.m.
“We’re beyond thrilled to complete this tribute to the incredible legacy of Jay and Patty Wright,” athletic director Mark Jackson said in a statement. “Over 21 years, they were our guides on an amazing journey for which we are forever grateful. Together they fully embraced our University’s mission of Unitas, Veritas, Caritas as humble servant leaders.
“This beautiful new area, connecting the two campus homes of Villanova Basketball, honors Jay and Patty’s contributions in a unique design.," Jackson continued. "‘Wright Way’ acknowledges the leadership of the Wrights and the teamwork on the part of student-athletes, coaches, and the Nova Nation who gave us all such wonderful memories.”
Wright led Villanova to four Final Fours and two National Championships. becoming Villanova's all-time wins leader (520) and establishing 'Nova as one of the elite men's basketball programs in the country.
