Villanova will retire Josh Hart's No. 3 jersey, the school announced Thursday. The ceremony will take place at halftime of the January 19 game against Marquette at the Finneran Pavilion.

Hart is one of the most decorated players in program history, having played an integral part in Villanova's incredible run of success in the 2010s. Of course, he was a key member of the 2016 national championship team.

In addition to team success, Hart accumulated his fair share of individual hardware as well. He was the 2017 Big East Player of the Year and a 2x Big East Tournament MVP (2015, 2017). He also claimed the 2017 Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award.

“We’re thrilled to be able to honor a true Villanova Basketball legend,” Jay Wright said. “Josh is a relentless competitor who elevated our team from the moment he joined us as a freshman. His tenacity as a rebounder, scorer and defender was instrumental to our team’s success.

“Josh’s parents, Moses and Pat, raised a wonderful young man who impacted Villanova in so many positive ways. This is a well deserved honor for one of Villanova’s all-time greats.”

Hart is the only player in program history to accumulate at least 1,900 points, 800 rebounds, 250 assists and 150 steals.
