Villanova Lands Allan Ray!

Villanova landed a verbal commitment today from 6'2" Allan Ray (St. Raymond's / Bronx, NY). Word passed that Mike Sullivan (Insider's Reports/RivalsHoops.com) had a friend post that Ray was to verbal at 5:15pm, presumably at the ABCD Camp at Fairleigh Dickenson University. A follow up posting indicated that Allan Ray had indeed verballed to Villanova, beating out Seton Hall, Miami and North Carolina State. Final confirmation came from The Sporting News at about 7:30pm.

What seems to be the biggest reason of choosing Nova over NC State is Ray's relationship to Julius Hodge. Ray played under Hodge last year at St. Ray's and while Allan is leading the show for the Ravens this year, he expressed a willingness to avoid doing so again (see Charlotte story below).
