Villanova forward Trey Patterson is entering the transfer portal. Patterson announced the decision via his social media pages.

Patterson came to 'Nova as a four-star, top 30 prospect, but he was just never able to generate any momentum as injuries continually interrupted his development and ability to get onto the court.

The forward played just 219 minutes over 40 appearances as a Wildcat. He averaged 0.5 points, 1.0 rebound and 0.2 assists.

While the current iteration of the transfer portal deservedly receives a lot of criticism, this feels like a situation where a move is the best outcome for both player and program.
