Outside of keeping the 2022 recruiting class together after taking over following Jay Wright's retirement, Kyle Neptune has just secured his biggest recruiting win as the head man at Villanova. Washington State transfer TJ Bamba has announced his commitment to the Wildcats.

Bamba averaged 15.8 points while shooting 42.6% overall, 37.2% from three and 73% from the line in 2022-23. He added 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

The 6-5 wing excels around the basket, finishing through contact with either hand. He has range out to the three-point line and was particularly successful off the catch, hitting 43% of his catch-and-shoot threes a season ago. Bamba has the ability to post up smaller players and has shown an array of moves, including fadeaways and step-backs.

Bamba had some interesting comments about his decision while talking to ESPN, stating that he believes Villanova gives him the best chance to reach his ultimate goal of reaching the next level, citing examples like Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo. He also said he wants to "help lead Villanova back to dominance." Perhaps his most interesting quote to ESPN was this: "If we are winning as a group, we all will win as individuals."

Bamba was a consensus top 15 transfer, with some outlets having him in the top 10. This is a good get for Villanova and should help as the 'Cats look to bounce back from a disappointing 2022-23 season.
