The college basketball season just officially ended on Monday night, but we're already starting to get some news about next season. CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein is reporting that the matchups for the 2023-24 Big East-Big 12 Battle are set, with Villanova scheduled to travel to take on Kansas State.
Kansas State is coming off an excellent season in which it posted a 26-10 record and reached the Elite Eight, earning wins over Kentucky and Michigan State in the NCAA Tournament. The (other) Wildcats finished No. 15 in the final AP Poll of the season.
In the current landscape of college basketball, it's virtually impossible to predict in April what teams will look like come November, but regardless of how rosters shake out over the next five months, Kansas State represents a fairly marquee opponent that should have some buzz.
