Villanova made another transfer portal addition Wednesday, landing Miami transfer Wooga Poplar.

Poplar, a Philadelphia native who attended Math, Civics and Sciences, averaged 13.1 points 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists last season at Miami. He shot 42.6% overall, 38.5% from three and 86.4% from the line.

The 6-5 guard was a priority for Villanova as the 'Cats look to revamp their backcourt. Poplar should slide into the starting lineup and provide a solid scoring punch.

“We’re excited to bring another tough Philly guard to our team,” head coach Kyle Neptune said. “Wooga is an explosive athlete and big-time scorer. He does a great job playing off his shot, and attacking mismatches. At the other end of the court, he is a big-time defender that impacts winning.”

Poplar will join La Salle transfer Jhamir Brickus, Penn transfer Tyler Perkins and returnee Jordan Longino in the Villanova backcourt.
