Villanova forward Nnanna Njoku has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, the school announced Thursday. There is no timetable for his return.
Njoku had appeared in 10 games this season for the Wildcats, averaging 2.1 rebounds per game in 9.5 minutes.
"We’re disappointed for Nnanna that he is dealing with another injury setback,” head coach Kyle Neptune said. “He gave us quality minutes at the forward position earlier this season and we’ll miss the energy he brings to the court every day. As he has before, Nnanna will bring a great attitude to his recovery and continue to take pride in doing everything he can to support his teammates and coaches.”
The forward has been plagued by injuries throughout his time at Villanova. A foot injury limited Njoku to four games in 2022-23. He played in 11 games last season before having his campaign ended by right knee surgery. In total, he has played 34 games in four seasons at Villanova.
