Villanova big man Eric Dixon has been handed a one-game suspension from the NCAA for impermissible participation in a spring event, the school confirmed Monday.

Dixon participated in the Portsmouth Invitational in April as he explored his NBA Draft options. There have been previous examples of players being suspended three games for this infraction, so essentially a light punishment for Dixon here.

Dixon will serve the suspension during Villanova's season opener against Lafayette on Nov. 4.
