With the deadline for players with remaining college eligibility to make their NBA draft decision rapidly approaching, today the school has confirmed that Donte DiVincenzo will remain in the draft and hire an agent.

After his scintillating performance in the national championship game and his subsequent excellent showing at the NBA combine, the decision comes with little surprise with DiVincenzo’s stock at an all-time high and rising.

It’s a tough pill to swallow for Nova Nation, as Donte would likely begin the season as a preseason All-American and push the Wildcats to the top of the list of Final Four favorites. However, DiVincenzo’s progress serves as a testament to the program at Villanova and he will now have an opportunity to represent the program at the highest level.

“Donte has handled this process intelligently and received very positive feedback from the NBA teams about his prospects in this year’s draft,” said Villanova head coach Jay Wright. “We fully support this decision and are excited about what the future holds for him at the next level. Donte is an outstanding young man and the Nova Nation will always take pride in his accomplishments.”

Nova Illustrated would like to thank Donte for his contributions to Villanova basketball and wish him the best of luck in the next chapter of his journey.
