Villanova has made another addition through the transfer portal. This time it's big man Enoch Boakye.
Boakye, 6-10, played two seasons at Arizona State and one at Fresno State. Last season with the Bulldogs, he averaged 7.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 61.6% from the field. Boakye was a five-star recruit and the 28th-ranked prospect in his class coming out of high school.
The big man should be able to provide Villanova with some legitimate rim protection and should be a plus defender overall. He should add some rebounding and he runs the floor well.
This represents some much-needed frontcourt depth for the Wildcats. It's also fair to wonder if this will have a positive impact on Eric Dixon's decision from Villanova's perspective, as Boakye's presence would allow Dixon to slide to the four, something he's been wanting to do.
Regardless, solid pick up here for Neptune and staff that addresses a clear hole in the roster.
