in OT) by halting the 32 game win streak of Rufus King (Milwaukee, WI) (the USA
Today's #4 Ranked High School Team) at the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach
SC to advance to the tournament final.
This sets up an exciting guard match-up in the final between Dougherty’s
Kyle Lowry and Edgewater’s (FL) Darius Washington.

Dougherty overcame poor shooting from beyond the arc and
a weak performance at the free throw line with dominance in the paint and
clutch foul shooting by Shane Clark in OT.
Providence-bound, 6’8” Senior Forward DeSean
White was the star of the game for the Cardinals.
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> White scored
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> 32 points
and posted 9 rebounds. Rufus King had no
answer for Mr. White inside and he was more than happy to dominate.
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He missed the front end of a key one-and-one
down the stretch in regulation. However,
he redeemed himself by scoring 2 points in OT.
Villanova-bound, 5’11” Senior Guard Kyle Lowry was strong
for CD in the first half with 10 points and 9 rebounds.
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> For the game, he had 16 points, 17 rebounds, 2
assists and 3 steals. On the flip-side, he
had another rough night from long range (missing all 3 of his 3-point FG
attempts) and made 7 turnovers. Kyle had
a key strip and lay-up in crunch time in regulation but then missed the front
end of an important one-and-one. How fierce
is Lowry? 17 rebounds for a 5’11” guard?
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Wow!!
Villanova-bound, 6’8” Junior Forward Shane Clark scored 12
points primarily on a variety of dunks – in transition and on alley-oops – on reverses
and in the stratosphere. He had a solid
ball-handling game with 5 assists and 2 turnovers.
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He also contributed 8 rebounds.
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He made four key free throws in OT at a time
when nobody on either team could buy a free throw.
