Some interesting news out of the program on this Friday evening, as the school has announced that 2021 commit Trey Patterson will be enrolling in the spring semester at Villanova and joining the team after graduating from Rutgers Prep.

The spring semester at Villanova begins January 25, and Patterson will be added to the 2020-21 roster at that time.

"We're really excited that Trey has decided to join us for the spring semester," Jay Wright said. "He's an outstanding student who made graduating early a priority so he could be with us."

The 6-7 forward is a four-star recruit who is ranked 40th in the 2021 Rivals 150. He averaged 19.7 points per game while helping Rutgers Prep to a 27-2 record during the 2019-20 season.

"Trey's a talented player and bringing him onboard will help our team immediately," Wright added. "This will also serve as a great springboard for him into next season."

As Wright alluded to, this should be great for Patterson's development.
